How we treat each other here.
WobbleFly is small on purpose. The only thing that keeps a small place small is people behaving well in it, so these guidelines are less about restricting you and more about protecting the thing that makes WobbleFly worth being in.
They apply everywhere on WobbleFly, to everyone, at every age.
01Where These Guidelines Apply
These guidelines apply across all of WobbleFly — WobbleFly Web and the WobbleFly mobile app — and to everything you can make or do on them:
- your profile: your name, handle, picture, bio and anything else on it
- Posts, Glimpses, Spotlights and Sparks, and the photos, videos, captions and comments attached to them
- Wave: posts, long-form writing, blogs, questions, replies, comments, mentions, hashtags, links and media
- communities, discussions and anything you post inside one
- Messages, including the first message and anything sent afterwards
- your follower and following relationships, and your likes and reactions
- your handle, your display name and anything else you use to identify yourself
- any other WobbleFly feature we add later
Having an account, a large following, or a Spotlight does not change how these guidelines apply to you.
02Be a Person
The whole basis of WobbleFly is that there is a person on the other end of everything. So the baseline expectation is simple: act like someone who knows they are dealing with a person.
- Use a real handle and a real picture of yourself. Anonymous cruelty is still cruelty.
- Write as though the other person can read what you wrote. Usually they can.
- Disagree with the idea, not the person holding it.
- Do not act as though the rules are different because you are popular, or because you are new, or because it is a joke.
03Be Respectful
Respect is the whole job. In practice that means:
- No insults, name-calling, or mockery directed at a person or a group.
- No targeting someone's appearance, identity, background, disability, religion, sexuality, gender or where they are from.
- No deliberately provoking a reaction in order to make someone look bad.
- No piling on. One person is a disagreement; a crowd arriving at once is a mob.
- No pressuring anyone into revealing personal information about themselves.
- No mocking, humiliating or demeaning anyone.
Swearing, strong opinions, blunt criticism and heated argument are all fine. Being cruel is not. We are not policing tone; we are policing how people are treated.
04Safety and Harm
Some things are never acceptable, at any age, in any context, and regardless of intent.
You must not:
- bully, harass, dogpile or coordinate harassment against anyone
- make threats, or encourage, praise or invite violence against anyone
- share sexual content involving minors, or sexualise a minor in any way
- share non-consensual intimate content, or threaten to
- dox anyone: publish their private information, location, workplace, school or family details
- impersonate another person, a public figure, or WobbleFly itself in a way meant to deceive
- encourage, celebrate or provide instructions for self-harm, eating disorders or other dangerous behaviour
- organise or promote dangerous challenges
- run scams, phishing, fraud or fake giveaways
- distribute malware, or help others to attack, hack or intrude on anything
- traffic, exploit, or financially pressure anyone
- post content that is illegal where it is posted
05Protections for Minors
WobbleFly is used by people of all ages, which means we hold a higher line where younger people are involved.
- Anyone under 18 is a minor here, and we treat content involving them accordingly regardless of how old they look.
- No adult may use WobbleFly to contact, groom, or build trust with a minor. There is no version of this that is acceptable.
- No sexualised content, no requests, no comments about a minor's body, and no 'private' conversations with a minor that an adult initiated.
- Do not share a minor's content, name, school or location without the consent of their parent or guardian.
- If you are an adult and someone who appears to be a minor messages you, report it and stop replying.
WobbleFly does not have a parental-control dashboard or a family management system at present. This page is honest about that rather than implying a tool that does not exist — see For Parents & Families for what to do instead. The minimum age to create an account is [Minimum age to create an account]
06Content You Do Not Own
Posting something is not the same as being allowed to post it.
- Only upload work you made or are allowed to use.
- Do not repost other people's photos, videos, writing or music as if they were yours.
- If someone owns something you posted, expect to be asked to take it down, and do.
- Do not use anyone's name, likeness or voice to imply they said or endorsed something they did not.
07Honesty and Manipulation
A place built on small, real connections cannot survive being gamed.
You must not:
- create fake accounts, or use someone else's account
- buy, sell or trade followers, likes, reactions or views
- use bots, scripts or automation to follow, comment, react or message
- organise engagement campaigns or reciprocal engagement circles
- coordinate in groups to harass, inflate, suppress or drown out anyone
- manipulate how content is ranked, and you must not attempt to break the systems that decide it
- scrape, scrape-and-post, or copy WobbleFly content in bulk
- use WobbleFly to send unsolicited bulk messages, or to advertise to people who did not ask
- misrepresent who you are, who you work for, or what content is yours
Coordinated inauthenticity — a group of accounts pushing in the same direction — is treated as manipulation regardless of how friendly it looks.
08AI, Edits and Altered Media
Edits — WobbleFly's editing tools — are for making something you made look or sound better. That is a normal, legitimate thing to do.
What is not acceptable is using altered media to deceive someone about something that matters, and specifically:
- creating fake images or video of a real person saying or doing something they did not
- creating sexual content involving a real person, or a minor, without their consent
- fabricating evidence, quotes, documents or news
- creating content designed to humiliate, threaten or target a specific person
We do not require you to label every edited photo. We do expect you not to use edits to deceive, and we may ask you about the origin of content where a report suggests it matters.
Where WobbleFly introduces automated or AI-generated features, they will be described clearly when you use them, and they will be subject to these same guidelines.
09Reporting
You can report a Post, Glimpse, Spotlight, Spark, Wave post, reply, comment, message, profile or account. Reporting is available in the app and on the web, and does not require you to have followed the person.
A useful report tells us:
- what happened, in your own words
- where it is — a link or the account name
- whether it is happening repeatedly, and over what period
- whether anyone is at immediate risk
When you report someone being harmed, say so in the report. Safety reports are prioritised over content reports.
We may be able to act on things you tell us that you could not report directly — an off-platform account, or conduct in a community you are not in. Tell us anyway.
Do not use reporting to settle an argument, to get someone removed because they disagreed with you, or to target someone. Repeated or malicious reporting is itself a violation of these guidelines. [Target response window for reports]
We will not tell the person you reported that you reported them, unless there is a serious and immediate safety reason to do so.
10What Happens After a Report
Every report is looked at by people, not only by an automated system. Some reports need no action; some do.
Depending on what happened, we may:
- remove content, or reduce who can see it
- remove a post, reply, comment, profile detail or message
- remove a message or a follower relationship at your request
- stop a specific piece of content from being suggested to others
- disable particular features for an account
- limit an account's ability to comment, post to communities, or message people
- suspend an account temporarily
- permanently disable an account
- report unlawful activity to the appropriate authority where we are required to
- warn or educate first, where a lighter touch is proportionate
We aim to be consistent, and we aim to take the lightest action that actually solves the problem. A first warning is often the right response to a first mistake, and we do not treat every slip as a pattern.
Where someone's access to a community is limited, we explain why to that community in general terms, so people know what has happened without us discussing an individual's case.
11Appeals and Support
If you think we have made a mistake — about your content, or about someone else's — you can ask us to look again, and you can do so without giving up your account.
A useful appeal says what you think happened, what you think we saw instead, and anything that would change our view. If we agree we were wrong, we will undo the action we can and say so.
[Grievance and appeal process] Appeals are handled by someone who was not involved in the original decision, where we can arrange it.
If you are not satisfied with how a complaint about WobbleFly itself has been handled, contact [Support email] and ask for it to be escalated.
